Who we are 

The MET NHS is a student-led association representative of the National Honors Society, an organization whose international presence promotes leadership, character, service, and scholarship. We, at the Metropolitan School of Panama, engage in countless projects throughout the school and community, hoping to make a positive change.

Service

The service pillar of the National Honor Society reflects the organization's commitment to instilling a sense of social responsibility and community engagement in its members. NHS recognizes and celebrates students who actively contribute their time and talents to serve others.
Members are expected to participate in various service initiatives, both within the school and the broader community, demonstrating a dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Scholarship

The scholarship pillar of the National Honor Society highlights the organization's dedication to academic excellence. NHS recognizes and honors students who consistently demonstrate outstanding scholarly accomplishments. Members are expected to maintain a high Grade Point Average (GPA), showing a commitment to the pursuit of knowledge. The scholarship pillar reflects the belief that academic achievement is a crucial foundation for success and service in one's community and beyond.

Leadership

The National Honor Society's leadership pillar focuses on cultivating and recognizing students who exhibit outstanding leadership qualities. Members are expected to not only excel academically but also inspire positive change in their school and community. Through active participation in community service and taking on leadership roles, NHS members embody responsible, ethical leadership that contributes to the betterment of their surroundings.

Character

The character pillar of the National Honor Society (NHS) underscores the organization's emphasis on fostering strong moral and ethical values among its members. NHS recognizes students who consistently display qualities such as integrity, responsibility, and respect for others.
The character pillar highlights the belief that individuals with strong moral character contribute positively to their communities. Through this pillar, NHS seeks to develop students who not only excel academically but also uphold a high standard of ethical conduct.

About Us

We are currently in our 6th year of NHS at the MET and are continuing to empower students through the four foundational pillars of Service, Character, Leadership, and Service. We are role models for the younger grades, leaders for our peers, and dreamers for our school.
